The Modern Family Table
I partnered with Estella Media to produce this eCommerce website. The client was looking for an eCommerce website to promote her business of delivering pre-cooked homemade meals to families in the Philadelphia suburbs.
For the eCommerce features of this WordPress site, I implemented the WooCommerce and Gravity Forms plugins. The shopping configuration was very complex as there were many menu options and conditions. I also helped establish the payment gateway to tie into my client’s merchant account. Since delivery was limited to only certain areas of Philadelphia, I wrote a JavaScript program that checked if a user’s entered zipcode is in the delivery area.
Website Prototyping Process
Below are examples of the sitemap, wireframes, and style tile options I created for this project. I used style tiles to help determine the aesthetic of the site (colors, fonts, patterns, etc.) before the design phase begins.
I used the Gravity Forms plugin and its add-ons to allow for the menu options and alternatives. Since this is the time in the purchasing process when customers would have the most questions, I included a space for an FAQ.
Design Phase
After the infrastructure and wireframes were approved, I began the design phase. I shared a series of style tiles with my client that showcased font, icon, texture, and color choices.
